Kate is a physiotherapist who has worked in elite sport and performance for over twenty years. She has extensive experience working in international rugby, of which the last twelve years have been with England. She has also worked in Olympic sports, primarily equestrian, where she led the British Sports Science & Medicine team for the Rio Olympics and is currently in a similar role with the Japanese Team for Tokyo 2020.
More recently Kate has taken up the role as Head Physiotherapist at Birmingham Royal Ballet where she leads a team to support dancers physical and psychological well-being. Alongside this Kate still very much enjoys working in her private practice based in the beautiful Welsh borders, where she consults to a diverse range of clients from the local community to professional athletes.
Having been fortunate to learn from and work alongside many experts in the world of Sports Medicine, Kate takes great pleasure in supporting others on their journey, through mentoring, teaching and conference speaking in the UK and abroad.
Passionate about delivering the very best quality of advice, treatment and rehabilitation to all those she works with, Kate also explores areas of performance gains to support individuals not only to be in optimal health but deliver maximal performance. To achieve this requires experience and staying a breadth of current knowledge and research, which led Kate to recently study for a Masters in Strength and Conditioning and begin a PhD in sports injury psychology.
Kate believes in getting to the root cause of problems with treatment and rehabilitation tailored to each person and their training needs. Central to this is understanding how people move and addressing any movement patterns which may be causing or contributing to symptoms or under-performance. A systematic and progressive approach is used, ensuring individuals needs are met and they remain informed throughout.
